Machine Learning"The instructor was very knowledgeable and I enjoyed the exercises." - Scientist, LANL, Corran Webster's 7/21/2025 Python Foundations class

"The course was very useful for demystifying NNs, the language surrounding them, and understanding that they are really just a combination of many standard methods that anyone working in comp. science is familiar with. I also appreciated looking under the hood a bit more to see that the guts of the code -- e.g. auto differentiation -- were also understandable and accessible. The exercises were about the right level of difficulty so that you could mostly keep up and put what you learned to use. The course materials will be invaluable in trying to put some of this new information to use in the coming months. I also appreciated the brief section where the connections to pre-trained and/or "foundation" models was made (since a lot of lab scientists are starting to work with those now)." - Engineer, LANL, Logan Thomas' 7/14/2025 Deep Learning class

"I always thoroughly enjoy Diller Digital (previously Enthought) courses, so I always recommend them to colleagues when I can." - Scientist, LANL, Corran Webster's 7/7/2025 Data Analysis class

"I loved the engagement and ability to apply what I learned to problems in work and life. I also loved the pace and Tim's natural teaching abilities!" - Researcher, LANL, Tim Diller's 6/30/2025 Machine Learning class

"I thought Corran did a great job explaining whenever we had questions. I also enjoy having the resources afterwards. I think it gave me a strong basis, and I should try to apply what I've learned as soon as possible." - Engineer, LANL, Corran Webster's 6/16/2025 Deep Learning class

"I have previously taken intro to python classes and was wanted a refresh before diving in to the machine learning courses. The material was broken down and explained in an intuitive way. Corran explained the underlying mechanisms so that we understood what was happening rather than other courses that have taken a "that's just the way it is" approach." - Researcher, LANL, Corran Webster's 5/19/2025 Python Foundations class

"The course presented software engineering fundamentals very clearly and completely by incrementally building on a small Python package called fancymath." - Scientist, LANL, Tim Diller's 5/19/2025 Software Engineering class

"I found the pace of the course to be great for me.  The content was well chosen and well communicated.  The knowledge base of the in instructor was spectacular.  It was great to have access to someone that has been involved in Python development for such a long time." - Employee, LANL, Corran Webster's 5/5/2025 Python Foundations class

"I like that the course is not super theoretical but more practical with an easy application to the problems I work at LANL. I like that the course was structured in a workflow order that is recommended to approach all kinds of study case.
I also learned a bunch of python functions that I was not aware and they facilitate a lot the implementation and testing of the models." - Researcher, LANL, Tim Diller's 5/5/2025 Machine Learning class

"This was an impressively broad yet deep course for understanding Pandas and Python. It provided an introduction to and clarification of multiple tools I will be able to incorporate directly into my daily work." - Engineer, LANL, Alex Chabot-Leclerc's 4/21/2025 Data Analysis (Pandas) class

"Corran, the instructor was so knowledgeable! He had great answers for every question and explained everything clearly and simply. Hearing some of the history of python development over the years that he was familiar with was very helpful in understanding how packages work together." - Researcher, LANL, Corran Webster's 4/7/2025 Python Foundations class

"I loved everything. The class was laid out well for people coming in with different levels of experience. Coverage of topics is well rounded, and instructor (Tim) is very good (which is a big part of the course for me). I really appreciated that Tim listened and tried to understand our questions and gave comprehensive answers or told us he needed to think about it and then came back with comprehensive answers." - Researcher, LANL, Tim Diller's 3/24/2025 Deep Learning class

"I loved how in-depth and interactive the course was. I've done other trainings in different subjects, and I felt that this training was unique in the way I was able to learn the material through putting it in action. Tim was extremely knowledgeable, and I appreciate that he takes the time to answer questions, and for those questions which he doesn't immediately know the answer to, he researches and gets back to you later." - Engineer, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Tim Diller's 3/24/2025 Deep Learning class

"Tim is extremely knowledgeable about the subject matter (my class was specifically about using Pandas, but it's clear that he moves with ease through many layers of coding). Tim is able to meet us where we are, with the (understandable) caveat that the student must make the effort to engage and let him know what questions s/he has. I heard Time eagerly break from the regularly scheduled pace, pausing to go back and go over topics for either going over again or filling in missing background. I also appreciated Tim's non-judgemental demeanor and approach to learning; it was clear he really just wanted us to gain knowledge and use it." - Researcher, LANL, Tim Diller's 3/3/2025 Data Analysis (PANDAS) class

"There was an emphasis on understanding the origins of Python, it's ties to the C language, and how Python goes about handling things in the background. I found this knowledge super helpful and enlightening, and it was something other instructors had not taken the time to review in other courses I've taken. In particular, the sticky-note metaphor for variable naming was particularly helpful especially with previous programming experience in static type languages." - Researcher, LANL, Corran Webster's 10/21/2024 Python Foundations class

"There was a good range of material for people with different levels of familiarity with coding, Python, Pandas, etc. I enjoyed that Tim was not overly prescriptive with the coding experience. During live coding, he would make mistakes, troubleshoot the code, and explore what commands were available. He's obviously very knowledgable but it made me (a beginner with coding) more confident that troubleshooting errors in my code is totally normal and I don't need to know exactly what I'm going to code before I start." - Researcher, LANL, Tim Diller's 7/29/2024 Data Analysis (PANDAS) class

"As a newbie to Neural Network, I am very satisfied with the class as well as the materials you provided (slides, cheatsheets, etc.). This will help me a lot to understand and practice deep learning problems. I like the size of the class, dedication of the instructor (Logan Thomas), time allocation for many questions. My first time using Jupyter lab and it was fantastic, and the exercise instructions helped me a lot not wasting time on pragmatic issues (tensor and numpy command problems). - Scientist, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Logan Thomas' 7/22/2024 Deep Learning class

"The course was extremely well designed, well thought out. Give-it-a-try were great warm-ups for coming exercises. The exercises themselves were very compelling and built to reinforce what was taught without getting bogged down in required boiler plate code. This course reminded me of my kernel coding class at Clemson, the device drivers we wrote and disk read path we changed ... they've helped in just about every interview to date. This class was packed compact, still comprehensive, gave everything needed to start and ideal that it took only 4 hours/day for only 5 days. Kudos!" - Researcher, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Logan Thomas' 7/22/2024 Deep Learning class
